More than just company. True companionship.

Companion care that feels like a friend's visit

Loneliness is one of the most serious health risks facing Northern Michigan seniors, especially through our long winters. Companion care addresses it directly: the same caregiver, visit after visit, sharing conversation, activities, and genuine connection.

Because our caregivers choose their schedules and stay with their clients, these visits become real relationships. Many of our clients consider their caregiver a friend, and their families gain a trusted, regular set of eyes on how Mom or Dad is really doing.

Common questions

Companion Care questions, answered honestly

What is the difference between companion care and personal care?

Companion care focuses on social connection and light assistance around the house: conversation, activities, meals, and safety monitoring. Personal care adds hands-on help such as bathing, grooming, and mobility support. Many families start with companion care and add services as needs change.

How many hours of companion care can we schedule?

Visits are scheduled around your family's needs, from a few hours a week to daily visits. Because caregivers set their own schedules and keep them, the same person comes at the same times each week.

Does companion care help with winter isolation?

Very much so. Northern Michigan winters keep many seniors housebound for months. A standing companion care visit provides regular conversation, activities, help around the house, and a dependable connection through the season.
